Default RE: recomended oil and filter

Being that Mobil1 isnot 100% Synthetic it will work perfect for our cars, Exxon/Mobil designed it to work with 90% of the cars on the road. Mobil1 is as high qaulity as you can get in motor oil, it'son the High end of thePAO Group III Base stock,Mobil1 about 85% synthetic this makes it very compatable.

Motorcraft 5w20 part synthetic is about the same as Mobil1 in quality. But what is most important is the filter,
you needto get a quality filter, I can not stress this enoughwithouta good filter you arerecycling contaminates back into your engine, Motorcraft, K&N, and Mobil1 Filters are the Best over the counter, If you can find a WIX Filter they are fantastic.

I personally use K&N Filters and Royal Purple since I am looking for 100% Synthetic Oil, Royal Purple is avalable at Advance Auto Parts, Pepboys, Walmart and online. The other 100% true Synthetic Oils are Redline, Amsoil andany Extended life oils.,

If it does not say 100% Synthetic, it's not. Synthetic oils are derived from either Group III mineral base oils (only in the USA - in the European Union, Group III can NOT be classed as synthetic), Group IV, or Group V non-mineral bases. True synthetics include classes of lubricants like synthetic esters (Group V) and polyalpha-olefins (Group IV).

I say Mobil1 is top knotch and Walmart has the Best Price on Mobil1 oil, 21.00 for 5.5gt jug and Mobil1 filter for 4.50.

When would you want to use 100% synthetic, is it more of a performance preference?

Yes, synthetic media can filter down to5 micron and because of it's efficiency can hold more particles. I used to use Mobil1/K&N filters (still very good filters) until I researched the new Amsoil full synthetic media filters. It changed my mind.

I use 5W-30 Royal Purple, and a K&N Filter. My engine feels so much smoother. Not to mention with Royal purple...If you put 5 qts in. you get 5 back....It is also geared toward the performance vehicle, which is why I use it.

I noticed that some don't carry the Modil1 filters, hmmgo to Autozone or Advanced auto and pickup a couple and youwill always have one avalable.
