Very nice.

Any guesses as to the MSRP range on this beast?

I saw it on television the other night and they said it would be in the low $40k range.

I did get a scoop from a salesman at the largest dealer in Nevada. I put my name in line for one.

In any case... He said they are only making the Shelby GT500 Cobra, the GT, and the 6 of course. No standard Cobra, and no Mach 1. The specs as released at the NY auto show were accurate... and they will probably contract with Pioneer (Shaker) for the stereo. Again... this is according to a salesman but at a very large and reputable dealer.

Production is supposed to start January 2006. Demand may move it up but that's the plan at this time. He said the 'MODEL year' of the cars will most likely be 2007 but will be sold in 2006.

I placed an order for one however he has to wait until September to take my money. I tried to pay for one in advance but they just would not take the money because they don't know how much the vehicle will cost. There is speculation about options and their pricing of course.

Elsewhere I read they are only making 7,000 Shelby's per year.

That's all I have. For now enjoy your 2005's!

Hm... I am really curious about this Shelby. Does any one have specs, like are there any suspension upgrades, are we still getting solid axle, etc...?
Looks are enticing, I'll say.

I wouldn't put any faith in them being ANYWHERE close to 40k. There are only 7,000 being made. The demand will way exceed that (there are at least 63,000 GT's being built this year).

Look for the process to be something like the Ford GT where bids are taken. Those 140k MSRP cars sold on average for 230k.

I imagine you'd be lucky to get a Shelby for around 50k.

lol there is a tech srgt. who bid for the only GT that ford let aafe's have. well not only did they sale it to him after he could prove he could purchase it but for 140k no doubt. but aafe's gets their cars factory direct. so the aafe's dealers are not allowed to hagle over price it remains a same rate deal across the boards for any vehicle. any way the tech sgt put it up for sale right after he got it. how much you guessed it 235k.

I called Manhattan Ford an SVT dealer and they said there is no list for now??????
I went through this when I ordered the MAch1 before it was released. It looks to be a dealer to dealer fiasco.
