CHANGED YOUR OIL? WHAT TYPES YOU USING?

RE: CHANGED YOUR OIL? WHAT TYPES YOU USING?
Holy crap do I have a story. Had my oil changed at Valvoline last week in my beater. They didn't put the oil filter on hand tight. So when I left for work the next day 1.5 qt of oil had leaked out on my brand new driveway. They sent some of their guys out to clean it up. No luck, stain is set. Man am I pissed. Called a concrete cleaning specialist, and he said not much you can do but put clay-based kitty litter down and wait for it to fade. Lesson learned take the time do it yourself. Your not required to take it to anyone; change it yourself if able. [sm=boosign.gif]

JC, try heating up the area with a torch to bring the oil to the top. Be careful, dont use to much heat, then as the oil comes up scrub it off with something like Simple Green. Repeat this until the water no longer beads up.

My manual suggests 5w-20 synthetic blend for the 2005 GT. My dealership told me if I used 5w-30, that I would have issues with my warranty. So I will play it safe and use what it says in the owners manual.

you can't trust anyone to change the oil for you. I had mine changed at the GM dealer (I don't have a Mustang yet), and they over-filled it a whole quart. My Dad took his to Midas and they did the same thing to him, totally different car, totally different place.
The V6 looks easy to change, not sure about the V8. Some car oil filters are hard to get at without lifting the car up.
