Default ? for those who painted their bullitts black

i was going to paint my rims this weekend- but it looks like next weekends project.

here's my question to they people that painted their rims: how did you tape off the polished lip around the wheel? did you use painters tape and then take a razor to it? did you rip up real small little pieces of tape to form the circle? also what grit sand paper did you use? i bought some 600 grit and was planning on wet sanding, i didn't want the surface to have tons of scratch marks in it. i also bought the duplicolor wheel paint - do i need to get a primer? ( it dosn't say to...) if i do, what should i buy. thanks peps!

This is something I'd like to do as well. I don't think I'd trust myself to do it, though.

Not to be a jerk but I dont think that blue stang will look good with black rims.... Its blue and white, I think its a lot better with silver rims....

I know what you were asking, but that doesn't mean I'll just ignore everything if I see a disaster coming. I've done plenty of stupid things withpast cars because, as an owner, you lose touch with what outsiders will see. So just FYI, as an outsider, you may want to think twice before doing them black. You don't want to end up looking like your nice new mustang has a bunch of spare tires onit just because it doesn't match up.

i don't think it'll look that bad to be honest. do what you want.
i'd like to find this one out as well, i wonder how black bullitts will look on metallic alloy.

i do respect your opinon, but it is, your opinon. if i do paint my rims black i will have the polished lip left around the rim. i also plan on removing the white strip. i also have another set of oem rims in case i screw up one set - i have painted rims before, i just wanted to know the process thatpeople are doing on these rims.
