Body Shop Guys - Estimate Please
A '76 Dodge Van decided to have its way with my door on Friday (pic below). Thankfully, the guy was insured, and his insurance company is taking care of the repairs. I'm taking my Stang in Monday morning to get the work done.
As near as I can tell (with my limited bodywork knowledge), the door skin, outside door handle and the mirror obviously need to be replaced. Also, most likely, the door shell as well. Fender and quarter are fine.
I've estimated the parts involved, but any guesses on the labor and paint charges?
Also, if there are an insurance adjusters here, should I go for diminished value on the car as well, since this is obviously going to show up on Carfax?

Most likely they will have to blend the paint through the quarter panel and the front fender
Sh!tty part is the paint is not going to match no matter what happens unless the entire car is done.
So yeah i dont know about the diminished value thing but if it helps you out go for it.
Have them paint your mirrors while they are it though..
No idea on the number or hours for labor my friends that live here would know but they are passed out.

all i can say is i had the exact same thing happen, except a few dings on the quarter as well, and the estimate was 2300, insurance brought them down to 2100 i think. they ordered a whole new door.

the hours and labor are really goin to vary from shop to shop. that kind of work is going to be a little "involved" unless they end up just replacing your entire door shell..but its hard to say

Just got back from the body shop this AM - $2,200. This includes replacing the entire door shell, mirror and handle. Insurance is taking care of the whole bill.
Part that sucks is, my 'Stang is out of action for almost two weeks.

Ouch, that hurts.
Have any pre-accident pictures floating about? You have a couple things done that I'm thinking of doing real soon. I have the side scoops already but they aren't on and I've been looking at that spoiler.
If those are the factory side scoops, did you drill or just tape? (sorry for the hijack)

Pascal?!?!
Pascal?!?!
To the OP, looks like you're in good hands.
Don't worry about matching, straightblack is the only color where you don't have to blend for match.
