Default hood pins

I have hood pins for my 2008 mustang and planning to install them soon... any advice on how high from bottom and how far from the sides to place them to give them an agressive look

you are somewhat limited to the location of where you can mount them because of where the support rails are. Unless yours are stick on, then i'd say a Civic

By the way, something to keep in mind. I bought an eleanor hood on my last mustang and had hood pins on it. I probably went through 10 sets of pins from people stealing them at shows. Why put the good ones on at shows? Why have the good ones on when nobody sees them imo. i am going to warn you now, if you put those cables on there to secure them, it will just do more damage when someone tries to steal them. Used to be hood ornaments and chromies on the tires, now kids want hood pins. Or maybe it's because i don't have hood ornaments and chromies anymore lol.

If you have the stock hood, you may want to consider mounting them on the radiator support bracket. This is a sturdy, rigid place that is uniformly spacedand perfectly aligned.
I have never heard of anybody stealing hood pins off of cars at shows that I have been involved with for over 25 years. Must be something related to imports and stick on hood pins![8D]

It's not the whole unit, just the clip, but it's still a pain in the rump. BTW support rails = radiator bracket, figured i'd clarify to avoid confusion, i have like 0 memory for part names lol.

I, too, have never heard of such a thing. But, if it has happened to you, then might I suggest you either stop leaving your car unattended, or attend shows in better neighborhoods? My car will be behind stanchions when I start showing it this season..

That's the beauty of living in the Chicago area unfortunately i guess. I'd rather them take my hood pins than key it hahaha. But imo i'm probably going to try to convert the ugly, bolt on scoop from Ford i have on my new one into some type of cold air type deal. That way i can stay away from fiberglass/carbon fiber and not have to worry about them.
