Yup you read right... I just got off the phone with my dealer... And I made it official... I canceled my order for my 05 GT and have pre-ordered the 07 Shelby Cobra GT500!

Ford is not yet taking orders for the car but I was told that they were told that they can expect to be able to place the order in May-June 05. Which means that MY order will be one of the very first received... and I should be able to expect the Shelby circa Oct-Nov 06, possibly earlier depending on demand...

5.4L SC'd at 480 Ponies... You know I think it will be worth it...

Very kewl.

What kind of deposit? I have read several places where they are requiring a deposit with multiple zeros at the end.

Good luck being on of the first to own the GT500 (cuz that would be awesome), but I'd be a lil bit paranoid that my dealer just told me whatever I needed to hear cuz they wanted to make more money off the GT order I had already placed.

I'd have still gotten the GT and placed the order for the GT500. Trade the GT in once the GT500 is available, or heck, find a way to keep both.

but, I don't trust dealerships...

After talking to the dealer... My salesmen is a friend and customer of mine... He confirmed that I was gonna get shafted on the 05 order no matter which way I cut it... Unless I opted to get something other than what I wanted...

The GT500 is gonna be a better deal for me and it is more in line with what I crave... The monies thay I put down on the 05 is being transfered to the GT500 order... Which means that it will be paid for in full when the car comes in...

BTW I am the rich guy that gets the car... sorry...

CONGRATS Whitey! [sm=americanasmiley.gif] [sm=groupwave.gif]

I’m Jealous! HA HA

BUT.. now you have to wait until November next year to see your new stang!

Can you drive the Sin Machine for that much longer! LOL

I leased my current car to have to hang for a bit to see where things go.. if I don’t get a build by the middle of May I’ll be canceling and buying probably an Audi S4 Convertible. (I happen to LOVE Convertibles!)

I don’t’ really understand how Ford could have screwed this up so badly. Isn’t that what they pay Marketing People for? I remember preparing assignments in my Marketing Classes in college doing statistical analysis on potential customer demand to predict production. It is a defined science today.

It is almost like Ford is trying to do the MacDonald’s Fast Food Model… don’t make it till you have an order – the customer will stand there and wait!

I just HATE it when companies announce a product 2 years before you can buy one… drives me nuts! Especially for example advertising a movie in the theatre now that won’t show until July of next year.]

TY

&

I think it really boils down to an intangible... I dont think there was any way of really predicting how the MASS PUBLIC would respond to the new Dew Body design.

The only thing they could look at is test audience reaction, which has statistically been proven to be quite erroneous often...
