sub worth putting in trunk?

RE: sub worth putting in trunk?
I have the MTX Thunderform andyes, there is a rattle heard from outside the car, not the inside. I used Dynamat in the trunk but the rattle comes from the bottom of the bumper cover/license plate area. It hasn't bothered me enough to get under there to try and fix it yet.

I want to put a sub in the trunk too. I just don't think my golf clubs will still fit.
When I went to test drive my car I took them with me. You should have seen the look on the salesmans face when I went to my truck and put my clubs in the Stang.

RE: sub worth putting in trunk?
Yeah, the golf clubs in the trunk were a problem for me too, so I got rid of the factory skipper 1k subs and had a custombox madewith the subs out of my last car (two Alpine Type e 10's). I would show pics, but you can't see anything, it's a totally hidden setup (now). The custom box put the subs up under the rear deck (had to be custom b/c of the vert top), and I could fit two set of golf clubs in my trunk, and two pairs of golf shoes. LOL
As for the sound, I'm running the factory head and interior speakers, and an old Sony Xplod 760w 2-channel with a 1 farad cap. If I crank it up, it used to rattle a bit outside, but my body shop just dynomatted the trunk for me when they did the custom enclosure to hide everything. I'm hoping now it's been at least mostly eliminated.

RE: sub worth putting in trunk?
Your trunk/rear will rattle no matter what unless you install dynomat, etc. I plan on doing that eventually. But it still sounds good on the inside where "you" will actually hear it. So I don't worry too much what it sounds outside to others. I do eventually want to fix this though. I didn't want to go too extreme at first, so I went with a Sony Xplod 2-Channell 600Watt Amplifier with 2 10" subs. The subs are mounted where everyone else seems to have their amps mounted, which gives me enough trunk space for grocery shopping The amp is mounted behind the subs, so it's really not too noticeable. I don't have pictures now, but I'll try to get some soon to explain my setup.
