wide band A/F - must buy or eye candy
Who thinks these are accurate, and will they tell you anything before your engine detonates anyway?
I think, if they are accurate, theymay be worth having toindicate:
1)aclogged fuel filter
2)a slowly deterioratingfuel pump
3) ashot fuel injector
But you would eventually know if all of these were happening anyway over time.
If somethingcauses a lean conditionquickly during WOT, I'm not sure this guage would help youfrom blowing yourengineunless you were staring at it while you were WOT.

If your car is FI, they are a must! The biggest and fastest killer of a FI engine is a lean condition. Only a wideband will tell you tis.

Has anyone ever had a wide band A/F sensorsave them from detonating their engine or running dangerously lean after the car had been properly tuned?
If so, please give details.

I'm in the process of putting a Vortech S-trim supercharger on my big car and I opted for a fuel pressure gauge instead. My thinking was: 1) fuel pressure gauge is cheaper and easier to install 2) If you've got a good dyno tune your computer should keep you in acceptable a/f ratio unless you have a fuel delivery problem, which the pressure gauge will show.
