Default Doors won't lock???

2005 Mustang GT. Doors won't lock. They move up and down, but when supposedly locked, you can still open the doors. The remote works, and it locks it, but again, you can open the door. Anyone have any suggestions or a similiar problem? It only has 13,000 miles on it!

Thanks

Logan

I've got a 2008 and I've got the same problem. When I hit the lock button on the keyfob the lights flash, horn honks but I can go right up and open the doors.

Water leaks messing up your electronics in the doors. The 05 to 08's had a lot of problems with this. After it rains really good check your floors and see if they feel wet. I am pretty sure that's what the issue is though.

Take the door panel off and have a look inside. The locking mechanism may be jammed, or the solenoid may be disconnected or any number of other reasons. Good luck...

I figured out what the problem was on my 2008 Mustang. Of course AFTER I spent $130 at the local dealership. The problem occurs when you screw the lock **** too far down. If you screw it too far down when you lock the doors it catches at the top of the door panel and thus won't allow it to go down far enough to lock the door. Loosening the **** will allow the car to lock. The only problem is that it vibrates up and down and it may fall off if too lose. I'm thinking a little bit of lock-tite or nail polish or even some Teflon tape might help keep it in place.

Now that's funny...$130.00 for that, the monkeys probably had to follow a 150 pg checklist before they uncovered that little tidbit of information.
