Just curious if anyone has reinstalled their stock butterfly valves, and gotten a new tune to support it and the current mods of course. Did you notice the return of torque or anything?

i would assume you pick some lost torq.....i never notice the torq that i may or may not have lost, so i doubt i will notice the gain if i put them back on

Yeah... good... I lost torque, but gained good HP, at least seat-of-the-pants. Tried them with 2 tunes, bama's torque tune was definately the best. But I always wonder to myself if I should quit acting like its a great mod and just put the old valves back on and feel the torque again. Since its probably all in my head, I'll probably not put them back on. more opinions would be nice imo.

I heard that you have to have them calibrated when you reinstall them??? Anyone else heard of that?
I removed mine and I don't think that I'll ever put them back on.. too many ways to get that lost torque back. It was a good trade I think.

I had no intentions of putting them back on, so the motor is in about 5 pieces lol. I pulled everything off that had to do with the CMCVs.

Thankfully, when I installed my delete plates, I also upgraded from a canned Diablosport tune to a Bamachips race tune and was installing a UDP at the same time. So I think that any loss in low-end torque was negated.

I have no intentions of ever installing the CMCV's again.

I'll be posting a thread about these misleading "myths" about CMCVs here shortly. Justin at VMP Tuning and I did before and afters on my car with the CMCVs. I gained power and torque all the way threw the curve more noticeably at the top of the RPMs, of course. I also haven't lost any gas mileage. I gained 12 rwhp from the addition of UDPs and CMCVs.

8URGTO: Yes you need to get a tune to compensate for the removal of the butterflies and/or the motor.

I'm sure most tuners are sensible to know this. But it seems like every time I turn around on here, someone is preaching about how CMCVs will kill your gas mileage or you'll lose torque. LOL
