Snake shmake, cobra shmobra. Its all fun and games until a Corvette or Ford GT shows up anyways..... For this reason, until Im a millionaire (never) and own a supercar, I won't worry/care about badges.

Thats not technically correct. A 1965 Shelby GT350 was not a Cobra and yet Had Cobra Valve Covers and various other parts with both the Cobra and "Snake" on them. The Cobra name was eventually added to the Shelby Mustangs but it was after the Cobra had ceased production.

Also Shelby doesnt have the rights to the Cobra Name it belongs to Ford. I believe the "Snake" Logo also belongs to Ford.

Since the Shelby GT is a True Shelby and not a Ford I believe Shelby would have to pay Ford a licensing fee to call it a Cobra or run the Snake emblems.

Since the Shelby GT500 is a Ford and not a Shelby then it can carry whatever emblems Ford chooses to put on it.
They just have to pay for the Shelby name.

i mean come on... why make a fuss about a piece of plastic

you can put a GT badge on your V6, a cobra on your V6 or GT, or EVEN a honda logo on your car
people will hate, but in the end, its your car, which you paid good money for.

(i was kinda kidding bout the honda logo.. )

so did we cover the fact that Ford doesn't call the new GT500 a Cobra? Go ahead and look, you won't see the name on it.

Of course since there's so much confusion between the Shelby GT and the Ford GT500 rebadging should just be outlawed! Create your own badges!
