Steering Wheel Rocking back N forth??? Possible Alignment problem????.. Help!
I just recentlyadded some 20" Foose Nitrous Rims, also added some Eibach Sportline Springs(Looks Great, sacrificed the ride..) and everything seems ok but I get this fast rocking effect from the steering wheel during mid speeds(like 40-60mph), this of course wasn't happening when the stock wheels n springs, the shop(fine line motorsport)that installed my rims and springs told me to come back 3 days after the springs were installed so they could settlethen theywould give mean alignment, soI took my ride back to the shopafter 3 daysto get the alignment and once I left I didnt really notice a difference in the ride, still get the slight rocking effect back in forth from the steering wheel, I think this use to happen when I had my civic lowered also but even then I didn't knowwhat this was, if it was normal, or if it was something simple to fix, Im guessing maybe I still need an alignment...kinda hard to explain but if anyone has 20" wheels with sportlines or anyone that may no what im talking can help me out with this one, i'd really appreciate it, thanks..

Sounds like wide wheels and they tried to keep them looking pretty by puttting all the weight inside. Possibly with rim weights.
If your going to do that you need the low-profile stick on weights so they can be deep in the wheel close to the hub.

So, are you saying that the steering wheel is forcing itself side to side? Or are you saying that the steering wheel has some looseness, or 'give', in it and will react to lines/patterns in the road?

It's not loose at all its just rocks back and forth really fast, it seems like an alignment problem but I couldnt tell you, its really hard to explain, its not the line in the road cause the road is smooth, it just happens anytime.

i wouls suggest look into bumpsteer problems and such, when you lower the car the geometry is changed and the 20 makes that even worse i think

If it gets faster with speed, it's probably a balance or runout issue. Have them break the tires/rims down and run just the rims on the balancer and see if there is any wobble (horizontal and or vertical)to them. If there isn't any wobble, have them remount the tires and run it again, if there isn't any wobble then you should be good to go. Roadforce balancing also works wonders for these kinds of issues.
Also, low profile tires have a tendency to follow imperfections in the road. Make sure that isn't what you are feeling.
