that is actually better than what i had in my Shaker 500 i think. I had all cones, that appears to be a tweeter. Mine also were stamped with 25 watts and not 50, so maybe they made some changes from the initial shakers systems. Either way, you will be happy with any upgrade you do

Check out theaudio visual electronicssection of the forum. There are many knowledgable members who know better setups than alpine or jl or the other mainstream brands for a fraction of the cost.

Just to throw it out there having a nice sound system doesn't mean having a loud sound system.
In other words being able to appreciate a quality sound system doesn't mean blasting it at full volume.
I upgraded my Shaker 500's front speakers to 6x8 Type-Rs, I've had nicer setups but I'm satisfied enough. I'd like to know if anyone has upgraded the door subs.

I'm no audiophile but I do know that without a magnet there is no speaker
A strong magnet doesn't HAVE to be big. Check out Neodyme / Neodymium Rare Earth Magnets
Besides that, factory speakers are never going to be high dollar so there's no point in getting twisted up about it. In my opinion they sound plenty good enough for what they are. They're never going to win any Ricer-I've-Got-the-loudest-Stereo competitions but that doesn't bother me.

After hearing the "Shaker" 1000 was all I needed to know. I scrapped the entire system (optioned the least) and installed an Alpine/Morel/Boston Acostics/Rockford Fosgate/Kicker of my own design. And yes, theinstaller gave me back those pathetic speakers. Sad....

Yeah, and I just gave him affirmation of how crappy those "premium" sound systems are. It's really a joke compared to what euros are putting into their cars, but we won't go there lol!
