Mustang or F150
I am recenlty in the market for a new car. I had a talk with my wife and she either wants a new mustang or a truck. UInfortunatly we cannot afford the new Mustang GT at this time or i would not even be posting here because the choice would be a no brainer.
I recently had a disscution at work abot sports cars and why would you buy anything but the best. Well now that has kinda blown up in my face as I sit here trying to decide do I contradict myself and get the V6 or just go with the F150. I am going to be trading in my wifes saturn and keeping my 89 5.0. A truck would be nice to be able to haul some **** around since I am always asking friends to borrow theirs. But that new stang look SO good.

I own a 2004 F150 5.4L Lariat, and I absolutely love it. However, I'm going to order an '06 GT titanium vert.
It would have been a tougher poll if you compared the F150 to the GT, but since you didn't, the choice was easy. The F150 is an awesome truck.
Still can't wait to order that GT in May, so don't shoot me for talking F150 on a 'stang forum!

You should never settle for less...unless your getting a really great deal on it. F-150's are great trucks, we have a '95 over 100,000 and STILL have had nothing major go wrong with it. Once we pay off our 'stang, we want to get a four door F-150, the best of both worlds.

RE: Mustang or F150
Well, is both an option [&:] I have a 97 F150 4.6L with 140K and it still runs like a dream. I also have the new S281, but hey, the truck is a company vehicle.
But I agree on not settling for less. As a 5.0 owner, I don't think you will be happy with a v6. Plus if you need a truck it should be a no brainer. Plus you'd have to deal with all your friends at work that you've been preaching about "buying the best". If you showed' up with a v6 they'd know you didn't get that Christmas Bonus BUT, if the car is going to be your wife's, then they really can't give YOU any grief - just pull out the 5.0!
Its a touch decision for sure - good luck.

I have to agree. I have a 2003 F150 Super Cab Lariat and a 05 Stang GT and love it. It you really need some to haung stuff then that is a no brainer, but it is also nice to have a toy. Have you considered an 04 stang? I bet you can get som really good deals.

If the truck isn't needed, you don't really haul things, then I don't see how you would not enjoy a 200+ HP 05 Mustang, V6 or V8, it is a lot of car for $20-26K.

RE: Mustang or F150
Thanks for the input everyone. However I think I am going to take firemedix911 advise and wait a little. I am getting out of the military in 6 months and getting a much better paying job. So I am going to wait and do my original plan and wait till I get my new job and trade the saturn in and get the 05 GT and the F150.
