Default Mounting AMP in trunk - ideas?

Hi

I am wandering if anyone came up with a creative way to mount an amp in the trunk of their mustangs.
This amp I am dealing with is about two feet long and a little over a foot wide.

I need all the cargo space I can get. Any ideas? Pictures?
Thanks!!!

Sound system as follows:

Front doors
5.25 in MB Quart components with 6.75 mid bass MB Quarts all externally crossed

Rear Deck:
MB Quart Coaxials for rear fill

Alpine head unit

12 in Eclipse sub in the custom Schsoche (sp?) 05 box (very nice box by the way)

all running off a 5 channel Eclipse amp.

what car is it that you have. In mine I'm doing it in between the factory amps. I've got the mach 460 system in it. That will safe me a lot of trunk spase bot it will be hard to see the amp there.

Will the amp fit where the spare used to be? It should. That's where my amps are.

Stupid question but what are you going to do if you ever have a flat out in the middle of nowhere? Earl

Nice mounting in the tire well.

No triple AAA so I need that spare

Yesterday I desgined a box type structure out of foam core to fit up behind the left tail light and provide a nice flat surface facing the right side for the amp to be mounted on.

I am doing it out of MDF this week Carpeting on it and I think it will be perfect!

Delurker - did you replace all the carpeting? Your subbox matches the trunk perfectly!!

I just got the '05 box made by the place in Florida that sells on e-bay. Is that the box you have? The shop doing the install is mounting the amp on top of the box. Are you able to still access your spare w/ the box you got?

Nice install delurker! I used to do custom auto installs - your pics bring back memories. Nice to see the Cap. tucked over on the side too. It just kills me seeing all these ricers going down the road with their headlights dimming with the beat!

I will put you all pictures up when done this week !!!!! Things are turning out nice.
My box is actually a single 12 - the new Schoche custom thing they have out. Very impressed with it.

Just got done with 6 cans of Duplicolor proffesional undercoating and sound deadening spray in the trunk. VERY impressed with it
