I've taken the car up pretty high once. 140. This was on a flat, straight stretch of nice road between Belfry MT and Cody WY called the straights. I'm not bragging, it was a dangerous thing to do. I did it because it was fun and also because I was curious to see how the car felt as it approached speeds over 120.

The curiousity is satisfied and I don't think I'll do it again any time soon. Plus a frickin bird flew up off the side of the road and hit me right before I let off. No damage but it definitely spooked me at the time.

That's funny....I got pulled over by a Wyoming Highway Patrolman for going 136 mph, I was driving a Black 735i with dark tinted windows, and of course my New York Tags on it. I was just outside of Cody Wyoming, funny thing is you can see for miles in all directions, this guy came up from a dip of some sort on the median.

Yeah no one here speeds and do you think I believe that? Why the hell do you own a mustang for if you don't speed. Not including you spend mega dollars making it faster. Yeah it isn't always safe but anyone here who has a mustang has sped end of subject. It does require bravery to speed and some skill after all you can died from it. I'm not impress with the hypocrisy here. If you don't like what I said then so be it but I'm not being honest if I tell you I don't enjoy the power behind the wheel . If you want a car with looks then buy that Infinity in the other thread..

Bluestar the area I'm talking about is approx. 5-10 miles past the chief joseph highway turnoff north of Cody. It's totally flat, the mountains are about 15 miles to the left, and there is no center median or place for the police to hide. However, they can be coming the other direction and at a high speed you may not know who it is until it's to late to slow down. It's the risk you take ofcourse.

I shudder to think what the ticket for 136 cost you, especially being from out of state.

OT - we drove the beartooth pass this weekend. Holy crap, when your car gets up over 10,000 feet it is a total dog under 3000 RPM.

To Riptide.....You live in one of the most beautiful areas imaginable. I drove on route 212 I think it was, it goes between Montana and Wyoming ....every place you look was nice enough to put on a Post Card. Like Arnold said....I'll be back!!!

Allout.....The Officer and I had a lot in common, so we just chatted for a bit, then went our seperate ways. No harm no foul.

Bluestar consider yourself lucky. I was on an open stretch of our old airport that was closed down and eventually made a good spot for racing. I was clocked at 135mph in my stang.[&:] One of my really good friends is our seargent of the local P.D. and was out there the night I hit that speed in my car(he has on 05 GT so he was having fun as well). I asked him what that would've cost for a ticket if I would've been caught on the street and he told me if I were to be clocked at that speed on any road around that the ticket would be around $1,850 for the speed and another $2,500 on top of that to get mycar out of the impound. I think you got extremely lucky with that cop that night.

I'm not one to preach about speeding and racing on the street, because everyone on here is guilty ofatleast one of themat some point and time whether they want to admit to it or not, but I DO NOT CONDONE WRECKLESS DRIVING ON THE STREET NOR AROUND OTHERS!!! If you want to race be smart and take it to the track or atleast somewhere that if you do screw up you wont take anyone else out with you. Just my $.02, but top speeds are fun atleast once, I mean for christ's sake curiosity killed the cat right?!?
