Uh, from previous experience an aftermarket headunit normaly makes your car stereo system sound better right?

Then again I've never had a premium sound system checked off on my previous cars, build list.

Plus now I'm just going for something thats iPod compatable (Double DIN) The 6disc CD changer is great and all, it just takes a hella long time!

no, the amps that power the speakers are in the driver's side kick panel.

ORIGINAL: Mooch

The first thing you can do to make a noticeable difference in sound quality is to change out your head unit.

If you are intent on keeping the 6 disc in-dash changer then Pioneer offers a few. Here's a link to one I found: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...-P6000DVD.html
I am far from experience in car audio, so please excuse my ignorance, but, wouldnt something like this sound WORSE just dropped in place of the factory unit because of the factory head units build in 500 watt amp? Or 1000 for people that have the shaker 1000.

kinda true...the door subs are powered by the amps in the kickpanal, the 4 main speakers are powered by the HU and the subs in the rear are powered by their own amps behind the subs

I'd like to see, what other people have replaced there stock head unit with. Send pictures!

Right now I can't deside between Pioneer or Clarion Double DIN (DVD)
