Default Battery Problem?

I'm having an issue with my 2005 GT. Came home from work one day when raining hard. Check charging system had been coming on for about a week. Stopped at a store and when I came out my car would not start. Did not turn over, no clicking from starter. Tried to jump with no success. Tried to start the next day and it started right up. Took to service station and they checked the battery, alternator (putting out 14.4 V) and starter, said nothing was wrong. Took car to work the next day and it wouldn't start at lunch. Got it started with a jump box and drove home, parked car and tried to start again, nothing. 1 week later tried it and it started right up. Haven't driven it but started about 5 times that same weekend. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Rich

I would guess bad battery, charge it, and take it in for a good test at a good shop.

Early S197's are trouble makers when it comes to the charging system. Sounds like you have a bad battery, it seems to be struggling to maintain a charge. However you can find some good information on here regarding the charging system in these cars.

You're likely experiencing the S197's notorious charging system issues. The stock alternator is marginal at best and the stock battery isn't much better. When one degrades, it often takes the other with it. Spare yourself a lot of trouble and research and buy a PA Performance alternator and a new battery if you have ANY suspicion about the battery.
