VIN Check for GT - V6 or V8 ?

VIN Check for GT - V6 or V8 ?
Anyone with a GT V8 can you check your VIN number for me? What do you have as the 8th character? My car was sched to be built last week but as of today the 800 # says "As of 4/28 the build week of your unit is 4/25. I came accross this web site.

I entered the VIN my dealer gave me. The 8th character is an H. When i ran it on this web site it said the engine is a 4 liter V6. I read some where in this forum that someone else ordered a GT and ended up with a V6 engine.

The code for the V-6 is E, 4.0L SOHC V-6 Gasoline 207-210HP.
To the point of GT's with the V-6, I have heard the same but never confirmed it or seen one myself.

Thanks for the quick replies. I may have been panicing. I know someone here on the forum ended up with a V6 in their GT. At least that was the indication because the oil filter was on the wrong side. I looked at the PDF file on the same page and it does show the H for the V8. Phew!

For what its worth, that website says I have a 6 cylinder in my GT. My only concern is insurance. If they look up the VIN and see it as six and then something happens and they find out its a V8, will I still be covered. I guess I need to call the insurance agent and make sure.....
