Can someone inform me on how to clean and oil the C&L air filter? What chemicals and oil to use? Or can i replace the filter with a k&n?

How many miles are on this 'dirty' filter?
C&L make a cleaning kit, dont they?
These CAI filters are good for many miles
before needing cleaning. I have heard
many over oiling stories about the MAF
getting oil on it from over oiling the filter.
Buy a new C&L filter as it comes pre-oiled.
I dont recommend replacing before 50,000
and then a replacement is in order instead
of cleaning. A pair of pantyhose makes a
nifty pre-filter for the big debris like bugs.
Remember, a slightly dirty filter traps more
dirt than a new or freshly cleaned filter.
You will need special air filter oil if you go the
cleaning route. NEVER use compressed air
to clean or dry a CAI filter. []

just got done cleaning mine.. i have done it once before. but seems like it got real dirty real quick.. and my MPG is my testiment..

but i had to buy a APC p.o.s. filter for rice cars as a temp. so i can let this one dry fully for a day and not, not have a car..


but ya the K/N recharge kit (work at advance auto parts).. works just fine.. unreal how much crap comes out when you rinse it the first time..


and ps.. the APC filter, i actually might keep and use for shows, bc it looks 100 times better.. lol.. and ya i thought about just buying a k/n filter and switch back and forth between that and C/L every liek 7k miles.. but this was cheaper..
