Default RE: Flashing Anti-theft light

Alarm or no alarm, the S197stang has anywhere for 100 to 200 mA draw
on the battery just sitting there. They were not designed to hold down
the pavement in the garage. Drive that puppy to keep the battery up.
Or get a battery tender. AGOOD one that keeps the sulfates from forming
on the lead plates.

You could always move to Vegas and be able to drive your baby year round like I do!!!

You should start your own thread instead of hijacking someone else's thread.

In case you hadn't noticed, the thread is more than 6 years old so does it really matter?

Mine blinks all the time. I put a battery tender on it in the winter months and its a non-issue.

The light flashes to show that the vehicle is being protected by the
PATS anti-theft system that uses a chip in the key that keeps someone
from driving your vehicle without a properly recognized key by the
PCM.
The engine will start but after 3 seconds, the PATS system "pings" the
chip in the key. If the code is recognized by the PCM as a valid code,
the engine will continue to run. If not, it will shut off...
