Took my kids to Busch Gardens yesterday. As we were leaving, I noticed that some jackass in a minivan had opened their back drivers-side door and slammed it into the passender side of the stang. It put a one inch gouge and a nice size dent in the door. I checked the edge of his door, but could not see any of my car's paint. However, you could see by the orientation of his door that it came from the rear seat passenger. I know this guy did it, since I'd cleaned the car the day before and it wasn't there. I felt like getting revenge on this guy's van, but decided to take the high road and use it as a learning experience for my kids. I told them this is a classic example of not taking responsibility for your actions and the right thing to do would be to leave a note on the windshield apologizing for what happened and to offer to pay to get it fixed (They were like "really?"). I left a nice note on his windshield advising what happened with my contact information, but so far no call.....as if I was expecting one! And to top it off, he had a Fraternal Order of Police sticker on his window!!!

It really sucks and I feel your pain. Ive been there many times and even when you park far away they seem to come and park right on you and forget to leave a God Damn Can Opener to let you get in your car. Sorry again.

I'm not going to name names but I know posters here who say they would not leave a not if they dinged someone's car. Reason? Because it's happened to them and noone ever leaves a note. So why should they?

It makes me sick when people have no respect for other people's property. It was probably the kids getting out of the mini van....mindless and unaware of their surroundings.

Sorry about your situation ..i feel your pain! unfortunately without a witness, calling the cops wouldnt have fixed anything, and insurance is hit or miss on dings( deductible is usually higher than the repair $$)..sucks..people make me mad sometimes
