Fuel Pump Sending Unit Went Bad Today
Had car since X-Mas. Today, while driving, the Check Engine illuminated, warning buzzer sounded and Message Display center displayed "DTE FLI DATA ERR". Also had 3/4 of a tank of gas in it and the gas gauge went to "0" and I have the color of the gauges set on a custom green and the illumination for the Gas went to red. Called dealership service department and had one opening after lunch. Headed that way and decided to hit the INFO button, which cleared the Message Center back to normal, but the Check Engine was still on. It also felt sluggish while driving. Come to find out that the fuel pump sending unit on the fuel pump went bad. Lucky for me they had "1" in stock. Took about an hour to figure it out and fix it.

The same exact thing happened to mine last week.......
my parts are on order though....arrival date??? May 20th!!!
Check engine and the same funky code and red gauge syndrome/.....
I wonder if the fault has to do with the gas tank replacement???
My "Friendly Ford Service Rep" seems to think so...

June 24th, 05 . . . . I just had the same thing happen to my new Stang today. I've had the car for about 2 months now. Any new news on what happend to your cars, is everything ok?
I'll be taking it in to the dealer in about an hour and I think I'll take this thread with me to help them diagnose faster.

Nope not another TSB, but i knew about this long before you all. Sorry for not telling... i just didnt wanna spoil any of youre 05 dreams. lol. But alot of the 05's have fuel sending unit problems and wiring problems. they will read a certain amount of gas and not actually have that amount. I know the part numbers that are to cause this and will post so you can tell youre "friendly ford reps" whats actually wrong with youre car.

After Ford send TSB advising the techs that the problems was the fuel pump inline and not the one in the tank, we haven't had anymore issues with the fuel system.

Well I took the car in and they fixed it . . . . . for about a day. While I was driving this morning the whole thing happened again! I looked back to make sure I still had a gas tank, and sinse I did I figured it was the same problem. Ford has the car again today and they said they would let me know. I'll make sure when they call me back I get a detailed explanation from the techs and post it.
