track time
Check this out. had to do some work for a company in San Marcos tx which is about 10 minutes from my place. When I got out there it was a ROAD COURSE!.......Damn! I put a wireless network in for him and gave him some tips on making it better then afterwards he took me out on the track in his S Mini cooper. AWSOME! Im taking the GT out there tommorow for some free track time and he said he'd ride with me and give me some tips. That dude could drive! Anyone have any suggestions before I go? I know I'm just going to embarass myself. But what the hell..........my buddys going to meet me out there with his video camera and ride and film the last couple of laps, from the passenger seat.

RE: track time
check all your fluids...and make sure that your brake fluid is clean. If you are really pushing the car like you should on a track, you will be superheating your brakes, and dirty fluid could give you all sorts of braking problems....
Have fun.

Good chance you'll over heat the pads and get brake fade before the fluid boils, or worse, both at the same time [sm=yikesomg.gif]
The very 1st time you feel shes not stopping as good, or pedal going down to the floor, pit, let her cool down. Don't set the emergency brake in the pits when shes hot either.
Just take it easy this day, get the feel for it. You will be hooked. Then to start get some better brake fluid, better brake pads, and stainless steel braided brake hoses.

What kind of speeds are we talking about here?
Went out my first time and took it easy (since I was learning) and the car did awesome. Have fun, don't worry about too much.
It's always a good habit to check the torque on your lugs before every run... and yes, don't set the e-brake, just stop the car in gear (if it's manual) or use something to keep it from rolling.
but most of all, focus on making you better before you go blaming your car for any mistakes

Thanks for the tips.........would've never thought about checking the lugs on the wheels. As far as the fluid,I checked the level and it was good ................the car only has 11,000 miles on it. 06 gt w/auto, Granatelli CAI, and corsa exhaust.
