You can put either of the AT or MT mufflers on your car no problem.

The GT500 uses the stock GT mufflers for the automatic. Seller isn't necessarily defrauding, if they are off the GT500 that is true it's just that they aren't any different. I picked up a set off a GT500 for a very good price so if the price is right (i.e. no more than you would pay for a GT take off) then go for it.

Cool, thanks for the info.

So why then are they different mufflers for AT vs MT....does it give a different sound? One better than the other?

So which mufflers does a manual GT500 use? Are they the same as GT MTs?

The GT500 is only made with a manual transmission and up until the current model year they used the automatic GT mufflers.

From what I recall reading MT gt mufflers sound a bit more agressive then AT ones. Both are too quite for me...

I remember seeing a post that showed the inside of the two different mufflers. The MT mufflers had a lot more free-flowing design than the ones from the AT.

the AT and MT are a little different, most people wouldnt be able to tell a difference by the sound. i have always wondered why Ford went thru the trouble of making 2 different mufflers for the GT. just use 1 style of muffler and be done with it.

and btw i have a set of GTAs, $220 shipped. PM me
