Default Anybody else getting to the point where....

is anybody else getting to the point where u have so much time/money into ur car and ur absolutely in love with it, that u want to get another car as a DD just to keep the miles off of it and protect it from the elements? im going to be buying an explorer in the next few months from my grandma to drive around in, especially during the winter, something i wont kick my feet off before i get in or pick at pin-sized spots on the paint with my fingernail....

i feel what you are saying......i bought my 08 gt to spend time and money on.....and she is my baby! coincidentally, my dd is a c5 and my "sunday" car is my z06!

i think we have all become OCD about our mustangs, imo.....imagine me, with a "black" gt....aughhhhhhh......always have to keep her clean and bug free

No dis-respect but, why would you put time and money into something you will not enjoy regularly for the purpose for which it was meant (to drive).
I ordered mine online site un-seen. My test drive was basically looking it over for all of 5min or less, handing over the check and driving it home like I stole it. This car gets driven and I enjoy every minute of it and yes I have dumped additional money into it to personalize it (and go a lil faster) and I am not done yet.
I originally had no intention on buying my 05' GT except that a good friend of mine passed away while doing the two things he loved most (playing music and flying his airplane).
I reallized that life is short and un-certain and that I want to enjoy every last minute that I may have.
I also reallize that there are so many of these cars out here that none of them are worth anymore than our emotional attachments. Face it, after all that we put into these things, if we were to sale them, we only hope that someone will buy it who has the same taste that we the seller has.

Drive them! If it breaks then know you have one of the greatest cult cars of all time and there will NEVER be a shortage of parts.

I have a 91 Toyota 4x4 for a daily driver. My Black 06 GT has 17K and only sees rain or snow when it looks out the garage window. It is ALWAYS polished to the max! When it comes out, it does so with a passion and pedal to the floor!

My 2008 Gt was purchased 3 weeks ago as my fun car. Currently has only 300 miles. Will never see any snow.

my car used to be me DD but i spent all day worrying about

i drive and park it in an industrial area and then commute to work by bus / skytrain and it sits there everyday for 8 hrs getting dust, tree sap and other crap all over it

then, i go to my other job at night where eggings, keyings and break ins are weekly events

that eventually led to me getting my pathfinder

i hate that i drive it 2 days a week, but its better than alternatives

+1 living life to the fullest

there's no way someone in my position (21 years old, college senior) would normally enter into a 4+ year strenuous financial commitment for a $25,000 piece of instantaneous depreciative automotive machinery...unless it was an absolute passion in their life. my friends all think i'm on drugs and that i am ruining my life by taking on this financial burden.

all i have to do is turn the ignition, and i know i made the absolute right decision.
