Is BBK tech telling me the truth?
UGGGGG I have been stressing the past few days becuase of this....long story short I got some stingers and want to order an o/r H tonight but my o2 sensors are a hurdle I need to jump. I may be able to get some BBK 1675 MILs......however Im getting mixed signals as to whether they will work or not. I contacted BBK tech to ask them and they said the new GTs dont need MILs because there is no rear o2 sensor like previous stangs....this was out of left field to me. He said that with they're testing the new GT's can go o/r without any assistance. This completely goes against everything I thought was true....is the tech guy retarded or can I go o/r without anything else without getting a CEL? I would think a freaking tech guy from BBK should know what hes talking about.

I just recieved another email from BBK..........

The 05+ cars are different.
The rearward most o2’s are in the cats which are in the front of the pipe.
The 96-04 cars had “cat monitors” to read after the cats.
Those cars required MIL’s to alter the signal from the cat monitors once the cats were removed.
I’ve put 46,000 CEL free miles on my 06 GT equipped shorties and an off road X.
My boss has put 40,000 on his 05 with long tube headers and an off road X

You are being told wrong. The 05+ have 4 O2s and the rear will often trigger the CEL if you have an o/r pipe. Screw the hassle with the mils and just have them shut off in the tune. If you have emissions, have your tuner send you the tune with the O2's turned on and load that one up for the test. Problem solved.

Does anyone have the BBK 1675 MILs? Did they work (because apparently BBK doesn't know ****) This is soooooo irritating. I could go out and buy Meth 1000000000X easier then a ****ing MIL eliminator set! First the patriot act is intruding in my business and now the EPA is telling me how I can and cant run my car! **** the EPA and the Gov. They should worry more about getting us out of debt and Iraq insted of worring about o/r midpipes....and no I cant get a tuner right now.....$500 on the new exhaust is pushing my budget.

Good question.
I have throttle body, cold air, shorties, off road X, and pulleys.
And no tune.
The cold air kit is the tune issue for most companies. The trick is to make the mass air sampling section of the cold air kit the same size as stock. If you do that (which BBK does) you don’t need a tuner.
05 + cars have 265 rear wheel H.P. and 275 rear wheel TQ.
With those bolt on’s and no tune, my car went to 318 RWHP & 331 RWTQ.
Here’s an article on one of the tests.

The pulleys and headers were not on the car for the test so the above mentioned gains were not achieved at this time.

I don’t want to sound cocky here but;
I’m not sure what industry the people who are telling you that are in, but developing and testing (lots of testing) Mustang performance products for a major aftermarket performance company is what I do.

I mean it seems like he would have to know about his product considering he does R&D and is the tech guy for them.......have any of you guys on here run an o/r midpipe with stock everything else without MILs or a tune? Or is it mostley hear say?
