16 inch pony rims best street slicks and size that will fit rims and car and gears
What size will fit on a 16 inch pony rim will 27x10.5 16s fit and will they fit on my car and whats the best gear for 27 inch tires at the strip I have 3.55 now but will be upgrading my gears but I want them to still be good for my street tires which are on 18 inch rims. I plan on having 2 separate rims for the strip with et streets because Lebanon valley is Nhra rules and I don't have longer studs or aftermarket axles. I'm not sure what the exact rule is but do drag radials count as slicks??? So I'm just wondering what will fit on 16 inch pony rim and on my car and be a good slick and best tires size for gears or if it matter. Thank you for all the info

I think you're looking for Bias Ply Drag Slicks for that small a wheel diameter.... wrinkle wall slicks that will bite and expand when you launch the car. Preferable for a manual tranny. If you want something that can do double duty ... Mikey Thompson Sportsman might do the trick...Drive to the track..do your thing and drive home.
Drag radials are a different type of slick based on how the inner walls are reinforced...and the physics of these tires will allow for a wider tire and wheel combo and less distortion at launch.. Might be more suitable for an automatic??? Sometimes you just need to try them out and get a feel for them....EIther way have fun.
You might want to pass this question on to "Diabolic". He runs on Bias Ply Hoosiers.

I guess my question is kinda funky lol what are the different slicks and also is a taller tire better? And whats the biggest I can fit on my car with a 16 inch rim 27 is stock tire hight so I'd imagine 28s would fit but is there any reason to go bigger??
