RE: How to disable ignition warning chime?
Probably the best way to disable the chime is to not leave the keys in the ignition when you have the door open for long periods of time...just a thought though...i wouldnt want to lock my keys in the car

Of course, if you take the key out and lay it on the console, then lock the door, you're screwed.

How about the annoying chime that starts when I open the door without the keys in the ignition?
On my Explorer and F150 I cut the small black wire that goes to the ignition lock cylinder,it goes to the key sensor switch, that stopped it on both of mine.
Not sure if the mustang is the same, take the cover off the ign switch and look. Seems like it was about 1-2 inches inward from where you insert the key, should be the only wire in that area.

Yep, I disarm, open the door, and it instantly starts. Very annoying.
Thanks for the tip - I'll take a look. I'm also going to feel around to see if I can find the buzzer itself and pull it. That's worked on other cars in the past.

I now see that all 2005's came with the AUP (Annoyance Upgrade Package)
- Big Key
- Seatbelt Safety Alarm
- Keys-in-Ignition Warning System
- Uncontrolable Seat Pitch (During rear seat entrance)
- Smokey Attraction Feature
- Extended Ordering Timing Belt

That is a huge annoyance! You'd think in the 21st Century all car seats would be engineered to let us tilt the seat forward, grab something out of the back and then lean the seat back into it's original position! Hell, when I pick up a suit from the dry cleaners and I going to have to walk all the way around my car and put it in the back from the passenger's side?
As far as the ignition sound, I remember on my 81 Mustang doing something to the switch to keep it permanently pushed in.

Hmmm.. looks like I'll have to drive to my local dealer and ask him to check it with WDS.
I'm surprised that you like this chime and think it is necessary.
I'v never driven a car which reminded me to pull off the ignition key.
Can't figure how to lock all doors with key in ignition.
Another question (easyer than the last one) how high is the octane# of premium grade fuel?
Greetz,
Taz
