Default Bent Housing

When i went to go pick up my car for the gears, the guy said my housing was bent. I hit a curb a while ago, but was never told this.

He said it looked pretty bad, because he was just walking by and saw it. Anyone know how much this should cost to get replaced? He said about $1,000. Im pretty bummed.

the "girdle" is cheap....200 for a FRPP one

If the housing is bent then you really have problems and $1000 might just be the beginning.

Did he install the gears? If the housing is truly bent you'd be better off picking up a New Take Off complete 8.8 Rear ... which is less than $1K

Wow, a bent housing from hitting a curb? I'd think something else would give before the housing, i.e. lower control arms, etc. Weird.
