Default 2010 4.0 V6

I downloaded the pdf brochure on the 2010 Mustang and it shows the 4.0 as the base engine again. How do the rest of you 4.0 runners feel about that?
Personally, knowing that there has been no change in powerplants I am in no hurry to purchase a new Mustang.

well.. after seeing the revealed exterior of the 2010 i'm a little disappointed and IMHO i believe the 05-09s still look far better in appearance. the interior is nice though.. i'm keeping my mustang for 3 more years and then i'm going for the challenger r/t!!

needs a "wait for the 5.0 in 2011" option

I was considering going with the 2010 if they came out with the 5.0 400+hp motor, but they didn't so there is no need for me to consider it.

I love my mustang, but the Challenger R/T's still catch my eye.

Ford oughta listen to the forums...I'm sure we could come up with some great ideas for them. I like that they incorporated the sequential tail lamps on the 2010 since they were such a well-liked mod.

I dont think the 2010 is bad...but it was a step in the wrong direction. I like that our cars are protected as the only "classics" since the classics. If Ford doesnt get bailed out...it may always be that way.

No way I am getting rid of my car. It is paid off and I love it...no more debt for me...ever.

+1 I am keeping this car forever if I can help it. I hope someday my kid can drive it.

I plan on waiting a couple of years and trading my 05 in for a 2011 or move the 05 into recreation duty and getting a Challenger for daily driver status. One way or another I'm going to stay a Mustang owner.
And I really like the front end on the new V6; it's cobra-esque.

I'm one of those folks who gets a car and hangs on to it for a very long time.

It is comforting to know that Motor Trend did a comparison of the Challenger V6 3.5 against an '07 V6. Even though the Challenger had more hp (250), the Mustang still out ran it. Challenger only offered a 4 speed tranny while our 4.0s have a 5 speed stick.

Here's a quote from their December '08 article;

Despite a deficiency of 1.4 pounds per horsepower (16.2 to Challenger's 14.8), the Mustang gets the jump on the Challenger with a slight lead until 60 mph, when they're even up at 7.3 seconds. But the extra gear ratios continue to pay off as the Ford crosses the finish line three-tenths and 1.4 mph ahead of the Dodge's 15.6 seconds at 90.3 mph.
