I've got a guy trying to tell me that the factory option Chrome Aluminum wheels on the new mustangs use plastic covers that are chrome finished over the wheel and I am 99% percent sure that it is a real chrome rim, but I can't find anything that says for sure. I just want to make sure before I get in a pissing match. Anybody know?
Is this a new factory option? In 2006 you could only get the fan blades or the bullits that were "polished" aluminum as a factory option. You could get chromed bullits from Ford if you wanted, but that was from their racing shop.

don't think they ever did that with the mustang...
now on the other hand, my 2008 expedition has what you are talking about...from the factory they are a 20" steel wheel with plastic outer "chrome" covers
^ wow steel wheel with a chrome cover on an expedition. Brings me back to the day I was running the walmart special chrome wheel cover on my 88 honda civic.
yep, that's what their factory 20" chrome clad wheels are...nothing more that a steel wheel with a plastic cover....you would never know unless you really looked closely at them.
