My friend who drives a Subie likes to come over and bum the use of my garage off me.

What are friends for though right?

I change the Mustang myself with synthetic, every six months.

The Subaru goes to the dealer every 3,000 miles.

I do mine but I think during the winter I'm taking it to the local shop. I'll just buy the oil and filter and watch them change it.

I don't know what you're talking about. It takes me 20-30 minutes tops from up on the ramps til off the ramps and cleaned up. That's less then the door-to-door time to a lube place including the wait. Besides, look at all the other stuff you miss looking at when NOT underneath your baby...

I think you guys are all being ridiculous. It's a simple oil change. I take mine to the local shop and there has never been a problem nor will there be. If you guys can't trust anyone to change your oil, how are you going to let your car go to a shop when a professional installation is required? I realize that you can do lots of mods yourself, but sometimes you don't have the tools that shops do that are required for certain jobs.

Don't get me wrong, I love my car. It seems to me that some of you take your cars WAY too seriously.
