There was NO mechanical failure. I got this straight from the track official that spoke with him.

Track official: What were you thinking? You didn't see how everyone was pulling up to the tree? You didn't see the other cars you almost hit turning off at the other end? WTF??

Driver: Well this was my first time (with a rather glazed look)!

And that folks, is why I like to run singles on test-n-tune night!! LOL
