Great write up, the only thing I would recommend is when you are putting the lock ring back on use a brass drift not steel. Sparks and fuel vapor don't mix well.

Great write up.

I will add 2 things- One, the arrow pointing the left side (driver) of the car will line up with a small "dot" up under the seat well on the outboard side of the car when the pump is lined up properly..it will also drop into that small notch that was illustrated.

2nd thing-For anyone interested, I HIGHLY recommend buying the special retaining ring installation tool from Ford (I bought it online) to remove and replace the ring.

There have been numerous posts in different forums of a screwdriver slipping and punching a hole in the gas tank...and by my experience its relatively easy to happen in a confined space like that. Its also easy to damage the flange of the fuel pump, since its aluminum. It only took one slip, no damage thank god.. and I decided 600.00 for a new fuel tank wasn't worth not making an effort to procure the correct tool for the job.

I figure..if you have 700 bucks to dump on a new fuel pump, whats another 75 or 100 to get the right tool for the job?

Great write up! Was this the FRP dual ford GT conversion Kit?

yes,this is the ford kit. recently dyno tested the car and showed it had excellent fuel supply at 446 HP.
