Default Steals on 2008/2009 GT 'Stangs

Has anyone seen any absolute steals on leftover 2008 or 2009 GTs... particularly in the Southern California area? I'm talking in the 16,000-20,000 range. I heard of a brand new 16,000 GT from a customer at the store I work at but he didn't remember where he heard of such a special from... only that it was local. I'm pretty curious.

Vic - Galpin Ford has about a dozen GTs for $18,999. They're in CA, look 'em up!

Yeah, I posted a couple weeks ago...my old man just picked up a new (2008) GT premium auto for $20K out the door. He could not pass it up. He said they had literally 20 to pick from and just wanted them gone.

I can easily see them getting below the $19K mark very soon.

Hi Illin, where in Illinois did your old man pick up a new GT? Anywhere near St. Louis? I'd love an '08 GT premium w/ 5-speed manual.

Thanks!

Yep...Sunset...but I looked and they had NO manuals.

I was just up there two days ago and they still had a few left. Dave Sinclair still has a dozen 08's too.

I have been THINKING about it too...but I really like my car as is.

At those prices it would be hard for anyone to pass up. Makes me wished I would have waited. Thought I got a good deal at the time.

I am the Business Manager at a Ford Dealership in Northern Canada, It is a tough time of year to sell a Mustang, from the dealers point of view, and if they have any 08's left, they will be willing to sell them at or below cost... I don't know about snow in California, but in places that get snow, being a dealership with an 08 Mustang at this time of year isn't a good thing. We have 3 2009's here, but we'll wait until summer and they'll sell,

This may be a dumb question...but what do dealers do with leftover cars? Several dealers here are sitting on LOTS of 08's. Will they just continue to get cheaper and cheaper? I cannot imagine a fleet option for GTs.

Ironically, the 6's are all gone...lots of 8's left though.

I paid $23,500ish for my 2009 a few months back, which was a full $2000 below invoice. 08s were rare around here at that time. I'd be real surprised to see 16k honestly, but I've seen that Galpin $18,999 thing around multiple forums, so you may want to give them a call. I am not even sure how they are doing that, my dealer made $250 on the sale of my car in the way of their holdback (of which I got $500 of). And mine is just a plain base GT, with no extras at all.

This is the best time of year to get a deal though, so if you're going to do it, now is the time. Walk in there before noon on Christmas eve, the place will be a ghost town. I've bought several cars over the years on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve...
