You have already proved how ignorant you are with the post.

I use 5W-20 in my car.
LOL I am probably gonna get another ban for starting another oil discussion but hey lets see. You are correct saleen and roush ask for 5w-30 the thing is that CAFE standards are no longer in play and it is interesting what happens. 5w-20 was recommended only for gas MPG to get better incentives. Scott Whitthead which was in the engineering team of the 4.6 3v and practically designed it has specifically has stated over and over again to never use 5w-20 on a mod motor. More into that amsoil specifically states to use 5w-30. Also I wouldn't use that royal crap that has been known to kill mod motors.

Ok quart 6 added .5 of that one, now were registering on the dipstick, added the remaining .5 and yep registering full. 6 quarts of oil in the crank case with new filter? Does this sound right to you? I have been changing my own oil for 22years and never used more than 4.5 quarts an I nuts?
I usually check the owners manual to determine stuff like this.

5W-20 is just fine. The extra viscosity only comes in handy in true racing situations like driving the car around a course. Your engine stays nearly the same temperature in normal driving all year round. Only when you get it on a race track and really let it stretch it's legs will the cooling system have a harder time keeping up resulting in warmer engine temps. A 5W-30 has the same viscosity at 302 degrees as a 5W-20 does as 212. Our engines don't sit at 302 degrees under normal conditions. Taking the car across a race course lasting 5-7 minutes, OTOH, is something else.

I know I've seen something that Scott posted about 5W-20 and these engines. What I don't recall is whether that caution was intended primarily for extended durations of hard driving/high-rpm use (think open-tracking) or all uses above mild/moderate DD.
