stock battery
has anyone had a issue with the stock battery after only a couple of years?it started a month ago.went to start it and it wouldn't,opened the hood and both terminals was oxidized real bad.took it to autozone and they said it was just low on charge, they charged it and filled it with water because it was dry.
it happened again yesterday so i got a new duralast one today.just wondering if anyone had a problem.
one more thing, whats with the positive terminal.trying to get it on right and theres a couple of metal pieces and a ground wire.does anyone know where the ground cable hooks to or if you could look at it real quick and let me know or have a pic.cant quite get it real tight .lol...feel like an idiot for asking that but most of the people on here are great.thanks in advance and HAPPY NEW YEAR.

And they're not that mush cheaper than the Optima. Plus, the Optima is much stronger in cold weather, and if IT fails, you've got bigger concerns than the battery.

Make sure you turn your stereo off before you leave the car. For some reason, the Shakers like to eat batteries if you do not manually turn it off before you shut the car down. My car died once after it sat for 3 days and i hadnt turned the shaker off before i got out.

Can anyone verify the Radio off issue. I have gone through two batteries (complete drains) after leaving the car sit for a week or two. All were covered under warranty, but the charging system checks out fine, so I can't figure what the deal is. I did leave a radar detector on, but those things don't have much of any draw.

GT Rick, I thought I was just having battery problems, but it turns out a lot of people on this forum have gotten dead batteries from leaving their shakers on. It wont kill the battery in 1-2 days, but if you are leaving your car for a week, make sure you press the power off button on the radio before you open the door to get out. I bet you wont get another dead battery.

Knock on wood, I only start my car a few times a month, and I have never had a problem with my battery. I always go several weeks without starting it. I am sure my luck will run out one day. I did just have my conv top motor replaced, after only about 20 open and closings of the top.
