That's not true. I installed a CompuStar remote start in my F150 and it has been working GREAT for the past 4 years. I purchased it from KCAutosound and installed it myself with detailed instructions provided by Travis the owner of KCAutosound. It has a range of up to 1500 feet which is way farther than an OEM remote start. I plan on getting a CompuStar for my mustang which has one has a 1 mile range.
