Thought I would post some updated pictures of my new plenum cover and bullitt hood blanket, so far no signs of rubbing.

Word of advice do not buy the WMS hood blanket, it'll be your worst nightmare!

Thanks again for everyone's input on this, I really appreciate your advice.

I've been thinking about buying the Bullitt CAI, it would definitely go nicely with the rest of my engine dress up.

You definitely need an intake under there :-P But I wouldn't suggest the Bullitt one. There are far better intakes out there. :-)

I personally went with the Steeda/Ford Racing intake and a Steeda carbon Fibre Elbow. I got my tune from Brenspeed. IMO this is the best looking kit and it will also make gains on par with all the other intakes out there. If carbon fibre isn't your thing then there are plenty of other options. A lot of people on here really like the C&L Intake.

Thanks KLO, me too! It was really sad to literally flush $100+ down the toilet on that WMS hood blanket.

What a complete waste of my time and money, what can I say you live and you learn.

Just curious, did they cover the blanket or the plenum cover under warranty?

Sorry to bump up an older thread.....

This past Saturday I replaced a WMS plastic liner on a guy's 2005 GT with one of my liners. It was badly warped, and had rub marks on it, plus his intake cover was discolored because of it. The guy told me buying that WMS liner was one of the worst decisions he's ever made. He also said to compound it he already knew about me and my liners, he had my flyer, but decided to try the WMS anyway. He then said he wishes he could go back in time and get my aircraft liners from the beginning. he had to use that double-sided tape, velcro, etc and nothing worked to keep it in place.

It was a b!tch taking that WMS thing off, those clips are longer than the stock ones and all of them broke off or were destroyed. After it was off the hood underside was cleaned and my liner was installed. The end result is pictured below and the 05 GT owner is now very happy. My liner adheres to the underside and offers better protection - it doesn't reflect heat back towards your intake and can be cleaned off. The horse decal adds the finishing touch.

He's going to try to contact WMS to see about sending it back - he was pretty mad about it.
