Just a question, did you drain the torque converter?

i read in the ford service manual that you need to disconnect the transmission lines from the radiator, then hook it up to a transmission flush and fill machine, this machine creates a suction draining the whole 13 quarts the transmission takes, it then does a reverse cycle and flushes in your new clean ATF.

Ford charge over 100 dollars for the service and the machine is over 4 grand lol so your way is good but for your 60,000 mile service, i reccomend you take it into ford.

We just orderd the machine for the shop so ill be using it in the next few weeks.

(sorry i didnt mean to come off as an ***, just looking out lol)

I'm going to drain & refill the pan tomorrow after putting a few miles on it,
then most of the fluid should be fresh
and if you "flush" the fluid you can not change the filter
so you get 100% new fluid and a old filter , or a new filter and mostly new fluid, its a choice that has to be made.
