What machine is your shop getting?
They say that the filter gets flushed out, its a metal mesh filter. But I dont know if I believe how well that works.

The machine we have just hooks up to the oil cooler or trans lines and uses the cars own trans pump to basically do a transfusion (pun intended)
Large 18qt cylinder in the machine and takes in the old oil as the new stuff is dispensed.

Pull the pan once the fluid is drained change the filter, re install the pan then fill er up
didnt know the process would work that way,
most of the time the machine just pushes new fluid in behind your old fluid till the new stuff starts coming out

Ford decided to be A$$ H0l3s and not give us a dip stick or a torque convertor drain plug with easy access but i still love my car lol

Im not sure what machine we orderd, ill have to check but i know it was from the Northen Tool catalogue and it comes with like 25 different fittings

This is the one we have
http://www2.northerntool.com/auto-re...tem-167758.htm

We did have v6 come in for the service, and I recall having an issue connecting up to it. Wish I remember the details.

well no matter how you change the fluid, DO IT
Because Transmission repair is Expensive!

I was gonna pay Ford to do mine, but I wanted them to use my fluid, Jerks wanted to sell me their stuff, so no more buisness from me.

Lol typical Ford.

The way i look at it is a 100 dollar service is cheaper than a new tranny and whatever else it takes out so i was going to take it in, then i learned we orderd the machine

So the next few weeks i should have her done, im going to do my dads too.
its my service month lol, just done my oil, tire rotation, brake inspection, Diff oil condition and level, Spark plugs i did today, i just need to do my cabin air filter, Bearings, and tranny flush. then she will be like new

im doing New injectors and coil at 100 000 miles.

My babies going to be on the road for ever lol

i did my fuel filter not too long ago and my plugs took me about 45 mins. but because im an idiot, i drove my car (The one whose plugs i was changing) To kragen and had to wait for the engine to cool off lol.
the book says change at 100 000 miles but its been taking longer to start recentley and the gap was out on all of them so i figured, an excuse to work on my car!

im helping my friend do his next week on his F150 with the 5.4 triton if thats not hard enough, he has a Roush supercharger in the way llol
