Is that expanding foam or glue?

I have no idea what it is...I couldn't even get the pics of underneath the cowling...its all there as well.
What am I to do with this?

I already sued them for my paint job, we were settled and I signed and sent to the lawyer...I told him to tear them up and forget it. With this on top of the bad paint....this car is a Lemon.

Guy was pretty sloppy...Looks like body seam sealer. That's what I used to seal mine up. I took my time and didn't get it every where though. Looks like he followed the TSB. Seems like for $65 an hour or whatever they get they could do a good job.

It looks like Motorcraft TA-2 seam sealer.

The 'fuse box' in the passenger side kick
panel area is the SmartJunctionBox that
controls stuff like lighting and such.
Headlights, brakelights, turnsignals,
dome lights and lots of other things.
Like the TPMS system, the keyless entry
and factory alarm functions.
When it gets wet, the water interreacts
with the 12Volts thats present and all
sorts of corrosion starts to take place.
The SJB holds the 'as built' data for
the electrical options/features that
your stang has and a new one needs
to be configured with the 'as built'
data for your VIN # before it will
function properly.

Today I used the TA-2 Motorcraft seam sealer on my cowl grommets and pinch welds. Guess what? This stuff is the same stuff the dealer used on svt93style's mustang. It's a cream colored seam sealer and this stuff is messy! Gotta say though, after removing the foam gaskets from the cowl grommets and applying the TA-2, I have to say I took much more care and applied it neater than svt93style's dealership did. At least his dealership did in fact follow the TSB.

Bringing an old thread back to life...

Can the guys here who have experince with TA-2 fill me in on how it's applied?

Does it require a special caulking gun or anything like that?

Where'd you buy it?

Thanks
Wes

I have the TSB issue and it has affected my Smart Junction Box at a tune of $265 for a new one, and another $200 to "Let" Ford program it. I say LET because only Ford can do it. Ford must program them because they hold your cars codes, like keyless entry, power options, etc. I found this thread because I am having a problem finding part number 5R3T-14B476-BE, which is what my black box says. Ford says that is NOT a good number. I find others that are close, but they might be for difference options...like power passengers side seats or something. This TSB has cost me close to $1000!!! My car won't charge the battery, and my instrument panel has every possible light on! It has gotten really bad lately, so I am trying to find a new OE, but can't locate the part!!! Please help if your box part number ends in 14B476-BE and know what the new number is...FORD can't seem to find it!

The body control module is behind the kick panel.

Hi anthony232,

Please PM me with your VIN, and I’ll try to find the part number for you.
