Default Seat not wearing well.

I have been noticing for a few months now that after I drive for a while that the leather on the seat back is starting to compress in the shoulder area of my seat. I do drive alot, I now have 45000 miles on my car and I am a pretty big guy, 6'2" and about 225 lbs. I have had cars in the past and the seats were the last thing that wore out, I feel this is a little premature. I have an extended warrantee from Ford, I don't know if they would cover this or not? Any help would be appreciated.

I dont think warranty would cover it. I would just make sure to condition the leather regularly to make sure it avoids cracks and what not.

Try using Lexol on your seats, I condition mine every month, it keeps them soft. I have some wrinkles in my leather on my seat bottom, but I just think it's from use? But I can understand how you feel, I only have 8000 miles on mine, I feel it should still look new not wrinkled yet.

I'm not talking about the wrinkles in the leather, if you look at the picture on the link you will see where it looks like the foam is missing from behind the leather. Someone suggested to look on ebay for another seat?

Stop elbowing the seat?
The dealer should address the problem and fix you right up.
Thats just not right.

mikes08gt, the seats in my last mustang did the same thing, but since I was out of warranty I just left it. You can try racing seats, but since the car is a DD, it probably won't be comfortable :/

Do you have side airbags in your car?

Hey Smooth, I do have airbags in them, why do you ask? I am going to call the dealer on Monday to see what they say. Thanks.

Every Ford I have ever owned with leather seats has the same issue.. the seats wear quickly and the padding underneath them flattens out. It has happened to (3) Expedition Eddie Bauers and (2) mustangs including this one with leather.
