Default Painting the mirrors??

I've been looking for ways to get rid of our plasticy mirrors and so far I found the agent mirrors and the half and full painted covers.. but what about the plastic piece that connects the mirror to the car itself? I found this gt500 that has both the mirror and the plastic connecting part painted. I've gone to a few local paint shops and they're saying the mirrors are unpaintable but this GT500 had it done.. any ideas guys?

cover comes off from the inside of the door..there are bolts there...takes about 20 minutes tops to take off and put back on...really easy...as far as sand and prime...minimal sanding / scuffing and yes I believe Pascal primed first then painted, then clear coat...they are as smooth as glass when done...they look great..to me it was a great mod made the car look complete....

Pascal is a great friend of mine so it would not be fair to quote what he charged me...however..I have seen quotes from $200-$400...

a good body shop can paint your mirrors just make sure they use a adhesion promoter and a good quality primer.I painted mine two years ago never had a problem.

not paintable?LOL,wonder how they stay in business.

it takes a thick primer, so you can get rid of the texture, then sand and spray. I also installed CF caps after the paint.
