The problem was there was no way to get around the water box. I have to practice staying calm at the tree. I’m going to try running like at going from light to light but more aggressive. Just from reading all the advice I feel like a better driver. This Friday if possible I am going to the 1/8 mile track to practice.

Yeah my friend tells me they do that at the track here too. Seems stupid. Then everyone gets their front tires wet with no way to get them dry. Everyone with street tires then has to do a short burnoff whether they want to or not. Lame.

I have/did... I had a full motor moded 2004 GTO, I could get 1.6x on those tires all day long. They are great in the dry/rain. And obviously at the track. They would hook at good as my MT ET Streets.

EDIT: I did this on dry tires. I never NEVER took street tires through the water. Not even my ET Streets would go in the water.

lots of good info for you in here.

+1 to skipping the water box altogether
+1 to dropping your street tire pressure to 25-28psi
+1 to cooling off between runs
+1 to no burnouts in the water box due to water in wheel wells dripping

you should do a lot better your next time out and only improve each time out. have fun.

These 3

Capitol Raceway
MIR
Cecil County Dragway

Stock suspension also! I did have a 3800 stall though. The IRS was/is not that bad.

Granny shifting is shifting way before redline. Lifting your foot off the gas to shift is called shifting, lol!

I think Jizz is confusing 60 foot with reaction time, ha,ha.

LOL! not hardly. I had over 300 passes on it before I traded it in. Most of those passes where sub 2 second 60'. Dozens where 1.6x some on the ET Streets but most on the Dunlops.

I beat the **** out of that car and the day I let it go it ran like the day I bought it.

But back to the OP. I am serious, go look at a set of those FM901s... stick your fingernail in them - extremely soft.

I went to the Dunlap web site and could not find that tire. I am in the market for a good street tire size 255 45 18s.

these are pretty nice and for the size you are looking at, they are going at a rediculous discount:
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Sizes....le+F1+Supercar
there currrently on my front with 285s in the rear. I have 4.10s and a supercharger though so still no traction >.<
