SC install price

I talked to Edelbrock on the phone about the 3/36 warranty and my previous post was correct. The 3/36 warranty is only good on a 100% stock mustang (except for the Edelbrock E-Force of course).
When I pushed the longtube header issue, the reason given was "because Ford will void your warranty due to longtube headers". I disagree with that - no way Ford could blame any and all powertrain failures on header pipes. Anyway that's a moot point.
Since Edelbrock is saying up front the 3/36 only applies to an otherwise stock car, the reason is irrelevant. If there's no convincing them before the sale, there sure won't be any convincing them after the sale.

I am keeping everything stock for now in regards to the components of the SC itself. Then later on I may retune, but thats when I have enough money for a block and a few other mods such as gears. However others things may crop up first - house, baby...just to name a few. So who knows what may come, but what I do know is Saturday is the big day, and it will only get better. I just hope I can sleep that week :P

Man, if they're turning me a way because of freaking headers, they'll laugh themselves silly over a transmission swap.
Another gripe with Edelbrock on this - I asked about my speed shop of choice being given the Edelbrock tune to tweak for my longtube headers. Nope, not an option. If I want a custom tune, whatever speed shop I choose would have to start from nothing to build me a tune for this E-Force.
Unfortunately, no JDM or other E-Force-experienced shop is driving distance from me. No way I'm going to be some other shop's guinea pig on this SC. Especially when a Tillman is out there having trouble doing non-standard stuff to an E-Force install.
I told Edelbrock they aren't helping themselves on keeping the tune all to themselves for stock-only installs.
So no Edelbrock for me. No Roush TVS either, as I'll have the same issues with them. My best bet is going to be sticking with what the shops around me know - Saleens & Whipples.

This has been a long, long process, and I could of left it in the hands of JDM and let them get all the parts. However I know where to get parts cheaper - thats why I never let a shop get them.
I am on my break now at work, and if I could take a nap, I would. I am just so out of it... Plus I am not sleeping that well cause I am so excited for the install and I double check everything virtually everything per day :P

IDK guys, I wouldn't rely on any warranty when performing this level of modification to a car. From what I read on the Edelbrock site, its a 3rd party company and repairs are 100% at their discretion.
The bottom line is, if its THAT important to have a financial shield against repair expenses, then keep the car stock. Otherwise, its the whole "pay to play" thing. I get around this by having a DD and a "toy" personally. I leave my DD bone stock and under warranty. That way if the toy blows up, it can sit in the garage until I feel like having it fixed, while not jeopardizing my ability to get to work, etc.

I agree 100% though, but if you could get a warranty for a few hundred more and something does happen - you are covered. I know it seems like we are going back to this again, but we aren't...don't worry
