build quality?

build quality?
I was just watching the Motortrend comparison between the camaro, mustang and challenger and I was surprised how well the mustang compared to the camaro in performance (and it looks better in my opinion). But the wind noise from the window not sealing and the uneven trunk gap concerns me. Do you guys think that it was just a fluke with this car, maybe one of the first ones built or something? I certainly don't want to spend close to 30k for a vehicle with less than average quality. I've read other reviews that said the interior of the stang was very quiet. I wonder what gives? If the quality ends up not being that good in the new stang, I may pass on some of the performance advantages and go with the new gencoupe, or maybe even the V6 camaro.

As steele said, no other magazine had these issues and the two issues mentioned were not a quality issue for even the 05-09's...I don't see them being one for the 2010's. I agree, seems like a fluke....or perhaps damage that occurred during transport of that particular car. I'd bet the farm the 2010's you see on dealership lots won't be demonstrating these problems.
Frankly, I was a bit pissed that MT made mention of this as "shoddy build quality"....considering that there was no way that all GT's will be coming that way from the factory. Seemed like a cheap shot to knock the GT's showing down a few notches for the sake of not showing up the Camaro's rediculous interior (which they avoided having to make negative comments about).

To add, the new 2010's have more sound-deadening insulation added to them, so they should be even quieter than the last generation mustangs. In addition, it was most likely (I'm 95% sure) a Pre-Production vehicle, and if it was ever set-up for use as a test mule, or driven on public roadways prior to the public reveal, it may have had velcro near the windows for attaching vinyl camouflage (contributing to some minor wind noise).

well you have to remember that these cars are passed around by numerous reporters and rags. Someone may have forced the trunk closed when it was loaded. The window issue could be from the battery dieing and opening the door without the power windows rolling down. This one car is not the best way of judging the quality. My 09 is put together very well. No rattles or misfits.
