The catbacks and axlebacks provide no performance gains; only sound. No sense getting catbacks over axlebacks since the stock midpipe flows just fine.

A stand-alone CAI may net you 5-8 RWHP. A CAI & tune combo will net you 15-25+ RWHP. Get the combo.

A decent CAI & tune combo is roughly $600-$650. Go to the Brenspeed and Bamachips websites. They're 2 of the preferred tuners. Their tunes are more aggressive and perform better than the canned tunes you'll get from "other" vendors. The CAI & tune is probably the biggest bang-for-the-buck short of going FI.

Other power adders would be LT headers and O/R X pipe, UDP's, CMCV delete plates... Stay away from aftermarket TB's as they don't add anything over the decent stock TB.

You might also want to consider an aluminum 1 piece driveshaft and other "weight loss" mods.

Stock, the GT isn't bad but it's tame considering the crank rating of 300 HP. Typical dyno #'s are in the 260-265 RWHP with some factory wussy's at 250-255 and some lucky folks at 270-280 but some of that is dyno variances and tolerances, IMO.

I wouldn't worry about waiting until you hit 500 miles. These engines are made to go straight to the track from the assembly line. Drive the snot out of it stock then put the CAI & tune on. Most are VERY pleased with the change.
